Australian Latvian Novus Championship
The championship took place on 14 - 15 January, 2012
at the Sydney Latvian House, 32 Parnell St, Strathfield.
Twenty Sydney and Central Coast players took part in
the Championships with outstanding results. Sydney players
Berin Delforcce (SNK) won gold and Rudis Nemme (SNK)
silver in the singles leaving the bronze medal to Zigis
Andersons (MDVNK).

at the 18th November Independence Day commemoration
as well as presenting concerts in Sydney, Canberra,
Melbourne and Adelaide.
Krišjānis
Kariņš - 18. November speech in Sydney
Dr. Krišjānis Kariņš was in Australia visiting
all the major Latvian centres to participate in
the 18 November commemoration of the Latvian declaration
of independence in 1918.
Since 2009 Dr. Kariņš has been a member of the
European Parliament. From 2002 to 2009 he was
a member of the Latvian parliament and was chairman
of the party "New Way". .
